My NS admitted a miscalculation was made on the size cage/spacer chosen at one level of a two level lumbar A/PLIF. The outcome is a fracture hence collapsing of the L5/S1 disc space. I was to return to work part-time mid March but cannot due to the pain that has been continuous since my surgery. My sciatica seems to have cleared completely thank god but now I am plagued with this problem for who knows how long. He told me this has never happened to him as a surgeon prior to mine and he has an excellent reputation. I like and respect him and he has been truthful through this whole mess but I am now unable to return to work (STD ends in 5 days).
What do you think of my situation and what would you do if you were me?
All and any help is greatly appreciated.
