I have been on disability for a year and a half now after having had multiple epidural nerve block injections. I am still in pain and suffering terrible depression.
My last MRI findings: There has been a right L5-S1 hemilaminectomy and discectomy. There is epidural fibrosis encasing the right S1 nerve root lateral aspect of the sac with clumping of the nerve roots to the right lateral aspect of the sac. The epidural fibrosis enhances with gadolinium. There is no evidence of residual or recurrent disc. The right S1 nerve root is larger than the left suggesting possible edema.
Opinion: Postoperative changes L5-S1 with epidural fibrosis, arachnoiditis and scar tissue. There is no evidence of recurrent or residual discount. No interval change.
My questions I need answers to are; Does anyone have a similar condition? Is it possible for the insurance company to deny my application for total permanent disabled benefits from my own occupation and any occupation? And although I have read that there is no cure, and that my condition will likely progress, what does that mean? Progress how and how fast?
Any and all help is much appreciated.
