Greetings I am new to this forum and am writing because I want to ask others if this is also occurring where they live. In Tucson Az many of the persons with long term chronic pain treatment are suddenly being prevented from filling scripts. The reasons given are just as varied as the number of pharmacies one asks.
I have been told so many different lies I can not seem to find the truth. In my case the pharmacy I used for 6 years dropped Blue Cross of Arizona. This made it necessary to get a new one,To my complete shock I am not able to find a single one that will take my script or fill it. I have 6 herniated discs.I have spondollithysis and bone spurs near my spinal cord. I have been seeing the same MD for 8 years and taking the same drugs, oxycodone and oxycontin. I have never had a single problem using it correctly.
I have a close friend in the same boat only she takes methadone. They will not only refuse to fill it , the one pharmacy she did find would only fill it for 7 days at a time.
After some deep research I was able to find that the drug supply for these "popular" narcotics was being limited at the distribution level. This in response to stiff opposition for the use of them. The DEA, unable to halt the writing of scripts went to the FDA and convinced them to limit.
I am currently waiting to get on the advisory committee as a citizen participant for the discussion of HR4062 a bill being weighed before it goes to the US house of Representatives.
As such I would like to know if others are also encountering these problems.
