Nov 26 Fusion and doing great

Haven't been around in a while. I have to say I am a success story and want to share. The double fusion really was the best thing for me. The pain in my legs are gone. Everything is not perfect, but so much better than before surgery. I am off all drugs, sometimes I take a couple Advil. I still have some lower back pain, but it is more like an aching, an annoyance, but I can handle it. The area where they did take bone is still sensitive. I started hydrotherapy and that is very relaxing. Unfortunately, with co pays I am now only doing it once a week. I am doing my indoor bike, and only do that for about 5 minutes as it still takes a bit out of me.There are days where I do to much and then I pay for it that night or the next. My heat pad has become my best friend. Hope everyone is doing well and soon the snow goes away. I am from Rochester, NY so we got 15 inches yesterday. Things like cleaning off the car with alot of snow, will make my back ache. All in all, I am really happy about my results. Going to the surgeon on Monday to see how the fusion is going...

  • Glad to hear you're doing so well! I'm almost at 3 months post-op and having some minor issues, but hope things will start improving soon. Keep up the good work!

Jilro, I just started a new topic in this forum this morning. Take a look at it and tell me if you have any thoughts. My Neuro hasn't ordered PT for me. According to his PA, he usually only does so if a patient isn't healing at an expected rate. Maybe it's time to ask him about it? Right now, I'm sitting here with my TENS unit on the area of my back that's bothering me and on my hip. Getting in and out of the car really sets things off too.
