I have been on fentanl for at least 8 months. first the 25mcg with 40mg loratab now for the 2 months 50 mcg with 30-35mg loratab. The pain is much better and controlled enough that I am looking for work.
Looking around and talking with a PA and a Doc at my pain clinic both said Fentanyl is the strongest there is and I gather that once you get to the end of that track your done.
The doc said they can put in a pain pump and my research said a pain pump only unss 1/300 th the amount you would take orally or maybe even the patch. Putting a pump in me does not sound good, I wonder if I would even be allowed to drive.
Well at the rate it is going and my tolerance builds depending on how they step it I have 3-24 more steps before the end of the line.
The causes of my pain is "unknown" or as one put it a combinations of 6-10 factors all adding up.
If I don't get the job I interviewed for I am considering asking them to start weening me off these at least until I can get my tolerance back down to 20mg loratab a day. Then maybe I will have another 5 years before it builds up again. Problem is you nave to stay at a lockdown facility due to severe symptoms ( I went through 10 days of hell with Daludid, and lost my memory for 2 months, a lot of it is still gone).
Any comments welcome
