C5-C6 disc herniation

Hey Guys,

So i've been diagnosed with a large disc herniation at my c5-c6 and possibly my c6-c7. I know these are very common but i'm 29 YO and I'm very active. But this herniation is ruining my life. I've read a bunch of posts here and its been great to see others who are going through what I am and i love the support.

I've had mutliple injections and my pain management docs think a nerve block would be pointless. He thinks the next step is surgery and a probably disectomy. I'm trying to avoid surgery the best I can.

So my symptoms are not pain. I dont really feel the pain i used to have. But i have constant tingling down my right arm which gets worse when i turn my head a certain direction.
Is it worse to have constant tingling/numbness but no pain?

and if I do seek surgery, should I go to a spine specialist or NS?

Are there alternatives/ less invasive procedures other than a disectomy?

Ive read so many stories here where patients dont get any better after surgery. I dont want to go through all that without getting relief.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
