Post ACDF pain while sleeping

I had an ACDF of C5-6 and C6-7 almost 2 months ago. Most of of the time I have very little pain. Except when I sleep. My neck hurts like hell when I sleep. Has anyone else had this? Can anyone recommend a pillow to reduce the pain? Thanks.

  • Hi Rudi - I had ACDF surgery 2 months ago and I don't have any problems sleeping. I feel the pillow I use helps. I bought a chiroflow pillow that has a layer of water. The pillow cradles your head so It is very comfortable. There is no resistance and the pillow supports your head.
    Good luck.

  • I had ACDF 3 years ago level c6/7 and c5/6 . I could not sleep comfortably unless I had a wedge under my Knees and a very thin pillow but also had two pillows on either side to prevent me from turning my head or rolling over in m sleep.
