I had L5 S1 fusion surgery 6 weeks ago. First two weeks were very painful. I then arrived home and since then with the help of family members I am able to move around and can do few things. I am in my sixth week and all of sudden I am having same pain which I had before my surgery. Honestly, I am experiencing more pain to my lower back and both sides and then my pain goes down to my left leg. I experienced this kind of pain before before my surgery when I was shoveling my back yard or lifting. Now I sit down, walk or stand for few minutes my back pain shoot up so high.
I went to my surgeon office twice since my surgery and both times I was attended by his assistant (PA) who told me that my other muscles are flaring cuz I have not used them in a years and now I am using it. I had MRI and X-RAYS done and they both show no fault and everyone thing is in tact.
I am not happy with w my surgery and doctors opinion. I should have seen little improvement after surgery but instead I am in agony. I was refer to a pain management doctor and he put me on three pain relieve meds to ease my pain. I am about to start out patient therapy tomorrow. In my opinion If my Surgeon defuse my disk why I am experiencing the same pain at same place.
Can anyone give me some of their thoughts on my situation.
