I need help

My husband had a bladder sling on Dec. 3,2013. When he came home he could not walk without a walker. Two weeks later he was in severe pain in the back and going down the right leg. Also he developed spasms/jumping when this pain hits him. The ligament on the right side where the doctor cut him for the bladder sling is very tight and has a knot there. The left side is not that way and was cut at the same location. Doctors have done CT scan, Milogram w/ CT scan and it show a problem with L5. His doctor sent him for a nerve root block, but still is not sure he wants to do surgery. The doctor said he has never seen anyone with the spasms/jumping problem that my husband has with this nerve problem. We have been trying to get help for four months and have been unable to. Does anyone else have this problem?
