Hi I'm new here like most first time posters... Suffered with back pain for over 10 years, finally in 2012 after taking myself to A&E as I felt I couldn't I get my GP to take me seriously I had an MRI that showed a significantly prolapsed disc at L5 -S1
After a round of epidural and facet joint injections that were pretty ineffective surgeon has decided that spinal fusion is my best option.
After a second MRI showed that the disc had shrunk back 60% surgery still
advised as the pain and symptoms still present and the conclusion being I have degenerative disc disease - I'm 32 and otherwise fit & healthy
So here I am a few days now before surgery and my back feels relatively fine..ayone else experienced this??
The enormity of this procedure is beginning to dawn on me... Any words or advice ..,.
Thanks in advance
