yesterday I got MRI scan of my wife lumber spine and it was revealed that she has degenerative disc disease in L5-S1 level. disc dehydration with reduced disc height is seen at L5-S1 level. Broad based disc bulge is seen at the same level causing mild narrowing of bilateral exiting neural foramina. Modic type I changes are seen at L5-S1.
Mild disc dehydration is seen at L2-3 & L4-5.

I want to know how serious is it? Is there any medicine therapy for it as she is not willing for surgery. she is 45 yrs old. Kindly guide and help me in right direction.
