Nearly 24hrs since mini-TILF L5-S1 Feeling OK!

Just thought I'd share my story ..

Went under the knife aged 32 years old at 9am yday for my first ever operation and finally a way to sorting out my chronic back pain due to suspected DDD that caused a severely herniated disc at L5- S1

Procedure was 4hrs and was in recovery for 90 mins ..I have a vague recollection of telling the anethetist about my Scooby doo dream as I came round lol

Felt v little pain, just mild-medium back ache & obv v groggy. Hooked up to a morphine pump which has been great as I tried to be "good" but playing the martyr has no place this early after surgery as I found out!! Couple of quick clicks sorted that out!

Back muscle spasms, flo-tron boots & a v dry throat from the tube are annoyance but nothing more than that. Keep being woken every 2hrs to check BP & stats due to the morphine pump, also have a v slight temperature that they're keeping an eye on

Dying to get up as I feel yucky but some lovely person on here suggested baby wipes so not too bad

I am grateful to feel so good, I was extremely anxious & tearful going into surgery & I'm lucky I didn't need to be!

Thanks for listening xx
