c1 c2 Fusion

Hi. 6 wks ago I survived a serious car accident and had to undergo a C1 C2 fusion using a modern version of the Gallie method and a bone graft from my hip.
I have since heard and read that the pain medication that I was prescribed i.e. Ibuprofen discourages bone growth. I am surprised that I was prescribed medication that hampers bone fusion. I have since been prescribed alternative pain medication that should not interfere with bone fusion.
I was also wondering how soon one normally returns to work as I am still feeling quite weak, tired and still get muscle spasms. Is it normal to feel like this even after 6 weeks?
