Pop! Goes the mid back

I've got something wrong with every disc in my lower back. I've not had much pain in my middle back, though I do have some scollios, & haven't a work up for mid back.

Today I was doing some housework I know I shouldn't have, but sometimes you just can't stand it anymore, you know? I new I would pay for it with my back, but sometimes you get to a point where you just say to yourself "oh well, it's got to get done, I know I'll be in pain later, but I'll just suck it up, & it will get better in a couple of days". Anybody know what I mean?

Anyway, what I didn't plan for was that when I was sorted of twisted & cleaning the outside of a cabinet, that something would "pop" in my middle back sending shooting pains through my whole lower back!

I took my Norco, flexiril, a hot shower & ice, & it's still killing me! I don't want to go to the ER, because we all know how that will end. I just left a message for my Ortho explaining what happened, & asking if he would prescribe something stronger (I did not suggest any particular drug). I just saw him yesterday, & offered to see him again today if he wants, I just don't want to go to the ER. I really hope I didn't mess something else up!

Thanks for letting me vent!

  • I hope that it helps ease the pain.........
  • It helped a smidge, not much, but I'll take it. It's better than going to ER, & I'm very grateful my dr knows me & trusts me enough that he was willing to prescribe something for me.

If this is a flare up of some kind, that's the ups & down of CP, & I'll deal with it. But a popping sound & feeling in an area of my back that I haven't had much trouble with has me concerned. If it still hurts this much in a few days, I guess back to the Ortho & time for another MRI....
