Horrible pain on opposite side from L2-S1 decompression

Hi folks,
I now have this horrible pain on my left side, right side was the surgical side, down in my glutes and low back. Is there some kind of scar tissue or just healing of the nerves that needs to heal? I'm in week 9 and working four hours a day I sit on a ball chair, I did sit for over an hour today which I know is not good, now icing for an hour 20 minutes at a time. The last time this happened I was not sitting and ended up in the ER, diagnosis was musculoskeletal pain, but I'm thinking it's irritated nerves from the surgery, but it's puzzling that it's on the other side from surgery. I can't find any answers in these forums yet, I'm hoping someone would have some knowledge that I don't, if it's important I'm male and 49. Thanks for any guidance or advice, I'm also supposed to go back to 40 hours at work Monday as well.
