Synovium cyst removal

Has anyone ever had a Synovium cyst removed ? Just wondering if its a minor surgery without much downtime and if it helps relieve hip and leg pain ?

  • Hello. I had a synovial cyst removed in October of 2008. It was at the L4-L5 facet joint and was pressing on the sciatic nerve. Worst pain ever! It was out-patient surgery - in and out the same day. I didn't get immediate relief because it had irritated the sciatic nerve and L4-L5 nerves, but I did recover finally. I took the week off work, but if you can't do that, I think you would be fine. My scar is only about an inch long. Just make sure the surgeon says he got it all out or it can grow again.

    Good luck!
