I will go to the hospital on Friday for my SCS repair. We don't know what is wrong because the paddle and and battery pack have not moved at all. The problem is something that is technically lack of IMPEDENCES in my Medtronics unit which means that the electrodes aren't speaking to each other. Whatever! The problem may very well relate to a hard fall I took walking my dogs just prior to Christmas. I hit the sidewalk with my left knee and right hand which was very outstretched.
I will say one thing about my SCS. I didn't realize it was doing as much good as it was until it stopped working properly. I don't know why I didn't consider that my back was going to get worse with as much scar tissue as I have as a result of having not just a fusion but a tumor excised. But buddy, I know it now and I also know that my stim was doing more for me than I realized.
I don't really know if this will be as tough a procedure as the original but as soon as I do, you will all be able to read about just in case any of you are unfortunate enough to face a similar situation. I will try to resume posting as soon as they let me out of the hospital which can't be soon enough. Kathy
