Four Level Fusion - NEED ADVICE

I am new to the Forum but have a long history of cervical trauma from a car accident in 1983. I have previously had a fusion at C5/C6 with a natural bone graft. I know, ancient technology. Now the two disks above and below are shot and my neurosurgeon is recommending four diskectomies and corresponding formaintomies; with a five level titanium plate. This is rather terrifying to me.

I am seeking advice from anyone who has had a four or five level cervical fusion. Did it work for you? What limitations do you have by way of movement, rotation, head tilt, driving, lifting, etc.? Can you live a pretty normal life with five cervcial disks fused and plated? Did you experience any complications?

I am scheduled for surgery late June and am getting a second and third opinion. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has already had similar surgery. Thanks!
