Upper back/Neck pain

Hello, I've been experiencing upper back/neck pain for the past three weeks.
I'm 17, and I exercise daily.. sit-ups/leg exercises etc (unable to at the moment because of the pain)
Initially, it was an electric shock sensation at the upper right side of the back and I was able to pinpoint exactly where it was coming from, right next to the spine. This would keep me up at night and frighten me.
The one sided pain lasted for a couple of days and then it started to hurt on the left side, exactly the same place. Also, this pain ran down my arms at times but not severely. Sometimes my arms will go weak.
I'm a bit of a hypchondriac so obviously I searched every site out there on back pain and I worried myself even more.
The pain went around my chest at times but that has stopped now.
Now the pain is in my neck and it still switches sides. When it hurts on the right side, I'll get a headache on the right side of my head starting from the bottom and around to the top of my head. Same with the left side.
I wake up in the mornings feeling awful but as soon as I get up and do everyday things I'm symptom free.
I have 'flare ups'..twice a day maybe? Otherwise I feel fine.
I'm just a bit baffled and quite frankly scared as hell!
If anyone knows what this is or have an idea..please reply!
