I started to get lower back pains when trying to lift things off the floor. (Squatting and lifting with my legs even) Then the pain started to move to my butt and then into my calf. Pain that is all to familiar. It flares up when sitting in the car or at the table and when laying in bed. This has been going on for a couple weeks and I have been able to relieve the pain with Motrin, somewhat. I am afraid that something has happened the the disc above or below the fusion or if it is scar tissue causing the nerve pain and I really don't know how long I should wait to call the surgeon. He released me from his care at my 3 month post-op, on March 6th, because I was doing so well. Now I am afraid that everything is starting again just like it did before. Anyone have a similar experience or any suggestions as to how long before I call the doctor? I would rate my pain at a 3-4, maybe at times a 5 but nothing more. This is why I'm not sure it is something more than just nerve pain caused by scar tissue.
