New to the group - 29 year old with Slipped Disc

Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum. Like you all, I want freedom from Pain !!
I am 29 years old male diagnosed with disc herniation at L5-S1. I am an IT professional, so my job requires me to sit in front of computer for 8-10 hours a day. I experienced back pain for the first time in 2007, but it lasted only for few days and life became normal.

From past one year the pain came up again. I used to experience too much fatigue and pain at the end of my work day.
Gradually it increased and in Nov 13, I got MRI done, which showed herniation at L5-S1 level. I took conservative treatment, took bed rest for 3 weeks, then took pelvic traction for one week. I am on NSAIDs and exercises since then but things seem not improving.

I am quite broken as I cannot do my daily activities without pain. Every day I wake up with the hope that it will be a pain free day but this pain refuses to go. Please suggest me what should I try? I want to avoid surgery as have read a lot about its failures and re-surgeries etc..

Please help me out.
