I went in to get my pre-admission testing done on Tuesday. After taking blood, urine, EKG, and nose swab for MRSA they gave me a packet that had liquid antibacterial soap and a few sponges that I'm supposed to use on my whole body for three days prior to surgery. I have had different surgeries before, but was never asked to wash my body with a special soap. Is this par for the course? I'm a very clean person, and that made me paranoid. Do you think it is just this particular hospitals pre-surgery requirements?
BTW, There are no results as of yet for the MRSA swab or blood tests, so it can't be from what they found in those because they had just taken those samples before giving me the soap.
