neuropathy and carpal tunnell

My name is Paulette and I am 64 years old. I was diagnosed with neuropathy about 6 months ago and the neurologist states I may have carpal tunnel as well. It only affects my left side. The symptoms I experience are many: numbness and tingling (going to sleep); the pain radiates from my fingers to my left shoulder.

I had an x-ray and the findings were: severe disc space narrowing from C3-C7; multilevel degenerative change of cervical spine.

I was sent for a CT scan 2 days ago. Could the neck pain be causing the fingers to tingle? I don't have pain in my neck. The nurse said I had severe in my neck.

I have had cortisone injections in the past for unrelated area. I was diagnosed with bursitis in my right groin area and arthritis in right hip

  • It sure can! When I herniated discs in my neck, pain radiated from my shoulder down to my hand, with tingly fingers. I had no neck pain whatsoever. I had cervival traction twice- did the trick! I also have carpal tunnel in right wrist; that pain goes up my arm into elbow- but just had a cortisone injetion for that.
  • I have had tingling in my fingers for past 3 years due to the disc in my neck. For past 2 years I haven't been able to hold heavy objects with just one hand like I use to its aggravating but something I have learned to deal with.

Search B6 and nerve issues. I ended up with Femoral Nerve Damage from hip replacement in 2010...it's been a 5 yr saga..Thru a naturopath, she suggested some nerve supps and I chose two....for the last two months I've taken Sphingolin and Inosine and the burning/tingling on my thigh is about gone. But nerves are not restored, so whole leg is numb...

Do a search too for: alternative therapies for neuropathy --- there are many to read about.

Before you try any supplement, herb, over the counter item, exercise program, mechanical aid, brace, etc always consult with your doctor to make sure you
    get their approval.
Some of these products may be very effective, but no two individuals or medical conditions are alike. What works for one, may cause trouble for another..
