Anyone do Pilates/mat or reformer?

I just had my 2nd L5 discectomy 4 days ago. My disc reherniated 4-5 months after the first surgery. I have always done Pilates with a personal trainer who really knows my body. We are always careful to not do things that hurt. I find it the most amazing exercise for my body at 62 years of age.
Does anyone here do Pilates? Have any specific exercises to recommend? When can you start back with stretching and some exercises? My doctor didn't know enough about Pilates to be specific. The PT was way too conservative and I felt my time was wasted last time. Any thoughts? Suggestions?
So far I am able to move around well. I have some residual nerve pain in my calf and ankle that walking helps. Sleep is still a bit painful from the nerve, not much from the surgery site. I am wanting to do more!
Thanks, everyone,
