I'm 22 years old, and in February 2013 I slipped and ended up with two slipped discs L4-L5 & L5-S1.
I have been in chronic pain ever since.
I have tried physio, accupuncture and everything else my doctors have suggested.
They have referred me back to physio AGAIN to strengthen my stomach muscles and see if that helps.
My specialist has said he doesnt want to operate because I am young.
Was just wondering if other people have had the same thing told to them or not and what opinions are on that?
this injury has really affected the quality of my life and mental health.
thanks in advance.
Oh i forgot to mention, I have had steriod (Quarterzone?) injections into the area and noticed no difference after the anesthetic wore off..
I am in new zealand and ACC (the place thats meant to cover injuries) declined my claim saying its very possible I woke up with two slipped disc and a pinched sciatic nerve, so I am under the public health system which took me 7 months to get an mri and 10 months to get an appointment with a specialist (!!!!) and only got the injection because i had to go into the hospitals emergency department because the pain was unbearable.
has anyone had a disc fusion at a young age or know of people that have? I am really frustrated and over it to be honest.
