L1 Compression Fx

Hi there

I just found this site while trying to find information on spinal fractures.

Basically I was 5ft up a ladder facing backwards on it when it collapsed - I fell onto the ladder, was taken to hospital as I couldn't stand - no x-rays were carried out and I was told it was ligament and muscular damage. I have had regular sessions with a physio until last year when - I am in constant pain and visited my doctor who ordered an MRI scan. It revealed a compression fracture of the L1 vertebra - I have lost more than 80% height anteriorly and centrally in the vertebral body - I am due to go for a consultation with a view to steroid injections to reduce the inflammation and hopefully the pain, surgery will be a last resort. Has anyone had any similar experiences??

Many thanks
