PLIF Surgery pending

Hi All, I'm scheduled to have a PLIF on L5-S1 in June for slipped disc. I had the XLIF L3/4-4/5 in 2012 for herniation and cervical disksectomy C4/5 in 2010. I continue to have Excrutiating pain, numbness, and weakness in my buttock, thigh and leg; if I'm out walking and the pain starts like a contraction in my leg and buttock or severe spasm. When it happens all I can do is stop dead in my track and hang on to something. I just switched meds from gabapentin to levetiracetam, hydromorphone Extented. I keep changing meds because my body is adapting too quickly so nothing seems to work. I don't want to have surgery but don't want to keep popping pills and ruining my liver......I don't know what to do.
