I've been with Spine-Health since 2006 as has been the same with my moderator team. I've been a moderator for Spine-Health since 2008 and over that period I know I have won the support of many, but also been singled out as a problem person and not having any feelings. The only thing I can say, is that I have always done what I believe in, doesnt matter if people like it or not.
In the past couple of months, I have seen a new set of members coming on board. Spine-Health encourages that and we are always trying to help new folks.
But I think at times I might get a bit testy with some threads. I've seen so many threads, and really they are not that different now then they were in 2008. So I get right to the point, no soft love but tell it like it really is. I am sure that some people are taken back by that. They come here looking for support , but when they see me hitting hard and at times perhaps cold, I am sure they are taken back by that.
I do apologize for that. Not for being blunt or saying like it is, but not also trying to make new people feel welcomed.
I am here for Spine-Health. The company has enough confidence in me to allow me to basically run the atmosphere of this forum. As such, they have also allowed me to pick members to be on my moderator team. Over the years we have had many moderators. Because of the behavior of some of them, I had to ban them for this site! Right now, I honestly believe we have the best balance of moderators. Each of us bring something different to these forums. I am sure by reading posts made by the moderator team, you can see this. But the end objective is to make this site safe for everyone and to continue to create and environment to anyone can ask questions and get responses.
But this thread is about me. I know what my moderator team does and the Spine-Health company also knows this. Managing a large international forum site using volunteers says something about the total trust and confidence they have with us.
I still will do what is necessary and what is right. That may make people agreeing with me or thinking that I am a tyrant.
Please understand what I do, how I do it , when I do it, it is because I feel that it is the best action at that time.
When I am wrong, when I have hurt someone, I have no problem in apologizing to them and everyone. But when I need to make a stand (ie Putting my foot down) I will, every time.
One thing I know from all of my moderators. They LOVE to be here, they LOVE Spine-Health.
Thank you for listening to me
