My lower back and top of buttocks are hurting so bad. I'm not sure what I did, but I think it happened when I was at work. I'm a nursing assistant. After work last week I went to the ER because my back hurt so bad I was in tears. They said it was probably a pulled muscle gave me meds and sent me home. I laid in bed for 3 days. Took meds tried hot and cold. Today is the fourth day with pain, I got an appointment with my family dr in two days. But until them I'm miserable. I don't remember injuring my back. I went to stand from sitting and it felt like someone hit me in my lower back. I have pain in the top of my buttocks going down my leg. But mostly it's in my lower back. It hurts no matter what position I'm laying in, walking or standing. I was thinking it could be my syatic (spelling?) nerve but I don't know. I've worked in the healthcare field for over 17 years and I've never experienced this kind of pain. Any thoughts on what it could be?
