Pain after fusion

New to the forum. I had L5 fusion April 10. About a week after surgery I began walking. I was doing pretty well probably because I was on meds. About a month ago I began having a lot of pain in my tailbone and above that area; my legs started aching and felt like the weighed 100lbs each. I went for my post-op appointment and my doctor said the hardware looked fine. He suggested a pain clinic. They told me they couldn't help me and maybe I needed a second opinion. Meanwhile my doctor prescribed me tramadol which does nothing for the pain. He also prescribed some nerve medicine which doesn't seem to be helping. Is this normal? I am sick of crying from the pain. It hurts to sit or stand. What is going on? When will I be able to feel up to going back to work? I am a teacher and very active at my job. I am desperate....
