Cortisone injections

I'm 52 year old female pharmacist.
6 months ago I started getting low back pain, that i couldn't get rid off.
i tried a chiropractor a few times, then an osteopath and massage. Nothing seemed to make a difference, a positive one that is.
I had an MRI that showed severe degeneration in L4-L5 and the right SI joint - what? where did this come from, I'm usually active and healthy! a big shock to the system.
Had cortisone injection in L4-L5, i was pain free for 3 days then the pain started again!
Then I had another injection in the SI joint which produced no improvement whatsoever! That was really disappointing as the pain seems to be this area and I was confident this should work. Therefore I psychologically crashed!
I'm trying hard to remain positive but this constant nagging pain is getting me down.
I am now referred to a pain specialist which will hopefully perform Medial branch block then RFN if that works.
I'm getting very anxious as this is my last hope of getting rid of pain.
The pain seems to be mechanical, when I walk or dance or do small bends. It feels like my spine is wobbling and unstable. Did anyone share a similar experience? I need hope!!!
