Tens unit implant

I am 14months post-op. from a PLIF level 3 and laminectomy with continued pain when i stand or walk and back spasms all day.The longer i am on my spine the worst it will get.I do not know if i have a complete fusion or a non union at this point,my neurosurgeon refused to see me when my insurance changed over to my wife's insurance plan. I needed a referral to see him and my current insurance have not authorized it. My other doctor i was seeing said i may be a candidate for a tens unit implant and have anyone tried this for pain management? I currently have a tens unit that does help when it sticks to the skin, but it is a hassle putting on and taking off.
