Hello all, had a CT scan fri on my t7-t8 region and needed some input from those that have seen this, I have a medical background as a firefighter/emt but not familiar with this depth of knowledge.
Brief history:2008: central bulge on t7-t8/l1-l2, has been managed well with conservative treatment up until the last 30 days/1 week ended up in ER twice this weekend with worst pain in my life on T discs to include burning spasming, pain on breathing from disc, CT scan states :
No Acute Fracture or dislocation,
Lower thoracic and upper lumber spine multiple mild chronic endplate irregularites with Schmorals node formations suggesting Schuermanns disease. Mild Curvature of the spine is note, mild bilateral SI Joint Degenerative Changes are noted.
There are mild multilevel degenerative hanges are noted of lumbar and thoracic spince to include broad based disc bulges.
Impressions: Finding suggestive of Scheuremanns disease, degenerative changes.
As a 28 year old male with no back history until 2008, i read Scheurmanns is usually seen in adolescents and without mri will not know what is truely causing the pain that increases throughout the day everyday this week with things like walking. Has anyone dealth with these endplate irregularities and what came of them as far as treatment and prognosis. As a firefighter I have managed the bulges well with the physical nature of my job and going to continue as long as a I can. As I am not losing bowel control, im sure as with most thoracic pain patients I probably will not be a candidate for surgery. But we all know thoracic pain is the worst thing when it hits and very few understand it. Thank you in advance for any input hopefully ill know more thurs on my mri
