new Thoratic pain

I had a 3 level fusion back in 04', lower lumbar, L-2-3-4. Well in 07 it was taken out due to causing scoliosis, my worst nightmare came true, I had to have my surgery re-done!! It took me a full year to make up my mind, and until the pain got so bad I couldn't take it anymore, so I had to get it done. The surgeon I had do the 3 level at this point had been fired from Kaiser for doing over 100 surgeries that ended up the same as mine. So I was referred to another incredible surgeon "out-of-network". I had no choice but to get that mess taken out, and in it's place was put a 7 level, from S-1-L-6.... Just a horrible 2-1/2 years of pain and healing, and still healing :-( Through all of this I've experienced a horrible withdrawal from pain meds, enough to be hospitalized, I was hospitalized for 4 days this last March for a bleeding ulcer from medications, losing 3 liters of blood almost died... These back surgeries are horrible, as most of you know.

Well, since my bleeding ulcer episode, I've actually been doing better I guess. I still can't stand up on my own from a squat, need my cane, or a tree, something... But that's my fault for not exercising my legs :-( And it's getting a lot warmer so I don't have as much "barometric pressure" from snow or rain storms killing me :-)

BUT..... I now have a new problem, and it seems to be getting worse. I was warned by my surgeon that this may happen, but I tell you what I'm scared to death thinking about it! I DO NOT WANT ANY MORE SURGERIES!!! My Thoratic spine (is that what it's called) my upper spine is really been painful lately. It is very hard to lean over the sink to do dishes, lean into the tub to bathe my dog.

My surgeon did say that "in time you may begin feeling pain ABOVE your fusion".... guess what, it's happening, and I'm scared to death to tell my incredibly supportive husband any of this... I really don't know what to do? Maybe some kind of exercise would get rid of the pain?
