Hi. I have a quick question. I'm 5 weeks plus, post microdiscectomy/laminectomy of the L5/S1 disc. I have tried very hard to follow all the rules of no lifting/bending/twisting and not being sedentary. I've always been one who was on the go all the time until this herniation stopped me in my tracks.
So about a week ago (1 full month after surgery and no pain since surgery), I spent two days walking around the county fair for several hours at a time (with at least 3 days downtime in between). I did not ride anything and only walked, but I was there for 5-6 hours each time. Is this too much? Reasonable at this point in my recovery? I'm 35 with two kids and used to being on my feet a lot, so I felt fine at the time, but am I being unrealistic? Opinions are very welcome!
I should mention that I've been off any pain meds since about a week after the surgery and have felt great with just minor tingling now and then until after this past week.
