Spinal fusion 14 years ago and I have recently heard a crack

Have had a three level fusion at L4,L5 and S1. It is about 14 years ago, my first major surgery was 16 years ago and had two follow up surgeries, one to stabilise and the other to release siatic nerve. My hardware was removed. I have had over the years minor back discomfort but nothing like it was before. Now and again I have a couple of days in bed with inflammation mainly in the winter time. Today I was bending over and heard a crack, now I have pain in my left buttock, top of my thigh, groin and some numbness in my foot. At first I was a little scared to stand upright, but have slowly stood back up even though there is pain. Do these fusions last forever???
