Just found this forum, I have been posting in lower back, HELP PLEASE!

I just posted this to lower back and came across this forum!

Hello, I have written before looking for insight. Really hoping for some help understanding things. I'll try to be as brief as I can.

62 year old female with long history of back pain, was always able to get by. In February I started having sharp pains in my lower spine. Felt like center or just to the right. These pains feel like a lightening bolt. They went from weekly to now constantly.

I had an MRI and it showed many problems. My orthopedic felt a pain DR was my best bet. Pain DR started me with PT and an epidural. Pain has increased since then and right leg weakness. Next I had a sacroiliac joint injection. For the first 12 hours pain free. After pain was much worse and now included the left side. Last Thursday I was at PT pain was brutal he massaged only and that was painful. He tested my legs and saw both were weak. Cannot raise from table. He told me to go home and rest and not to do anything until my appointment with my DR today. Yesterday, knowing my appointment was today I decided I should try to do my "normal" activities and some of my PT. By the time I went to my appointment today I could barely walk. Pain was at about an 8 and I was getting my lightening bolts along with steady pain, it brought me to tears. DR still feels my pain is sacroiliac joint related. She did say she was concerned with the weakness and wants another MRI. She wants to schedule a PRP Synvisc/Euflexxa, I'm copying what was written on the paper. But it involves taking my blood platelets, cleaning and injecting into my sacroiliac joint??

I'm so discouraged and concerned at this point. Pain & weakness has increased dramatically since February and I still don't know what my problem is. I'll schedule the MRI but I'm not ready to agree to the procedure without learning more about it. More important I want to know what is causing all my pain. It is so bad I cannot plan any activities. I am totally unable to do more than the simplest of things, making the bed and emptying the dishwasher is a great accomplishment. Please, anyone with similar, thoughts, anything!! Thank you.

Take Care.
