OTC Alternatives to Opiates for Pain

I would like to know if there is, or are, alternatives to hydrocodone, which I took briefly after three lower-back procedures. The nuerologist will only prescribe if I keep seeing her (In my opinion, the office visits and treatments are expensive, so I had to stop going). MY PCP doesn't seem to understand how much pain I'm in and only recommends I take Tylenol and prescription naproxin, which do little for me. How do I talk to my doctor about pain and make it fully understood how real it is. Where I go to see my doctor, they're all doing "electronic" charting, so I spend the $250 15-minute consultation looking at the back of the doctor's head while they enter my symptoms and I describe my pain level. I leave with a with the recommendation of Tylenol and/or Aleve or Advil. I seriously can't take this lower-body pain anymore as I can't lie down, sit down or stand for any length of time without hurting. I'm at my wits end!
