Band of pain

Hi, hoping someone can offer some advice.
I helped a friend move on Monday. That night I was tired, but not in pain. Tuesday my back was a little stiff, but not too bad. By Tuesday night I thought I was coming down with the flu-- my stomach ached so bad I wanted to cry. Stayed in bed as much as I could on Wednesday, chugging pepto bismal. My stomach felt like I had done 100 crunches. Thursday was better, but the pain had flared up in my upper back-- like right where the band of my bra is. Friday night I had 3 drinks at a party and it seemed to loosen up a bit. Today (Saturday) it hurts bad enough to slow me down. So my questions are:
1. Is it possible that I just strained my back while helping my friend? I helped another friend the week before and was fine. Neither time did I move anything heavier than a mattress.
2. I have some vicodin left over from oral surgery. Would taking one of those help relax the muscles?

Just FYI, I'm a 37 yr old woman. I am overweight, but I'm still really active (yardwork, chasing the kids, riding my bike, lots of nature walks, etc. everyday.)

Thanks in advance for any advice. :)
