ACDF C4-5.C5-6,C6-7

I am brand new to this site and am looking for advice. I had a cervical fusion at C5-6 in August 2003. I had 2 subsequent laminectomys...2007 and 2010 for nerve pain. Within the past 4 - 5 months, I began having pain again. We were moving, I was painting, etc. The past 3 weeks I have had an xray, mri, cat scan and nerve test in my left arm. The pain I have is significantly worse down my left side.
I saw my surgeon yesterday and he informed me I need a ACDF C4-5 and C6-7. I already have a fusion at C 5-6. He explained that the discs above and below are gone and it is just bone. He may also have to re-do the original fusion he did 11 years ago. So, in total, 3 fusions in a row. I was shocked and am very scared. Surgery is scheduled for September 9th. Has anyone gone through anything similar? Advice, experience, anything at all will help tremendously.Thank you, in advance.
