Will C2/C3/C4 Stenosis cause headaches/tightness?

I have severe stenosis that will require surgery soon. I am currently trying to figure out the timing of the surgery and I want to base it upon the severity of my symptoms, trying to wait as long as I can without risking damage. My symptoms are mostly mild numbness with some periodic neck ache and periodic flareups of moderate numbness. In the past six months though, I've noticed that I am getting periodic (every other day) bouts of headache or a tightness feeling in my head, as well as a general feeling of being tired. I figure this may just be due to the stress of dealing with my stenosis, but I'm also wondering if it could be directly related to the stenosis itself.

If anyone has related experience, it would be great to hear from you.


  • I have a history of chronic headaches, and saw two neurologists over the years who were convinced that I was having migraines. However, none of the migraine medications helped. One of the "perks" of my laminoplasty to correct severe cervical stenosis is that I have very few headaches anymore...seems that the stenosis had a part in the years of headaches prior...
