tingling and pain in the leg without back pain?

About six years ago, I started to feel some pain in my right leg, sometimes tingling and sometimes slightly numbness.
There was absolutely no back pain. I did an EMG which was normal and a MRI which showed some disk protrusions but nothing serious. After around six months it improved and eventually it went away. It came back now and then but never lasted long. Now since about a month it's back. It seems to be getting worse after sitting on some chairs, especially on those with firm/hard surface.
The tingling feels generally in the calf, foot, ankle and rarely thigh. It's not always in the same place.
Does anyone have something similar? Should I go the nerve route or could it be something else like vascular?
By now I've seen a couple of doctors and none could give me response.
