Epidural injection using fluoroscopy

Hoping someone can share their experience with the epidural steroid injection using floroscopy. I'm not going to lie... I'm a huge baby with needles and am scared to get this done.
Was it very painful? How long did it take? Does it help with back pain or only sciatic pain? I have a large herniation on l5s1 and in terrible pain when I bend backwards or do any sort of back extension (which I read is supposed to help you! Not make you worse... Very confused about that) sciatica pain seemed to settle down a little but still travels to my ankle.

Thanks in advance
