L3 burst fracture

Hi, can anyone please help? I am 34 yr old female that had bad car wreck burst fracture of l3. Excellent surgeon put a cage in cleaned up the mess and fused me. My surgeon doesn't like to talk and I just would like advice or others experiences. I am 6 weeks out from surgery and have numbness in upper thighs worse on right leg. I have enough feeling to let me walk I am supposed to not have any spinal cord damage. Anybody else have ongoing numbness it scares me it gets worse as I increase my activity but never painful or where I have zero feeling. Thank you I have never had any back problems or surgery until this accident.
