Hi. I am new to these boards. Here is my story...I got injured at work on 3-4-13. I am a Hospice aide & was bathing a patient in bed & when I went to turn him on his side, he push back & became resistive. I immediately heard & felt a pop in my neck & I couldn't turn my head at all to the left. The pain shot all the way down my left arm, into my fingers. Because it was workers comp, I had to follow their protocol for 90 days. I did PT & several injections in my neck but still had severe pain. I finally insisted that I get an MRI. It showed herniated disc at c4-5. In March 2014, I had anterior surgery but I was still in a lot of pain. I couldn't sleep in my bed so most nights I slept in a recliner. My neurosurgeon did not care that I was still having same symptoms & was still in pain. Then he told me that his job was done so I had to find another doctor. My new doctor did X-rays & they showed that my neck didn't fuse so June 2014 I had posterior fusion surgery. That was so much more worse than the first surgery! Anyway, here it is the end of August & I'm still miserable! My doctor says the fusion worked & all the pins & screws are in place. But now I have a constant burning/stinging in my neck & my left arm & hand tingle & go numb. He started me on neurotin but it wasn't helping at all & I didn't like how it made me feel loopy all the time, so he's letting me wean myself off of them. Now he is referring me to a pain clinic. I have an appt in September. Has anyone else gone to pain clinic & what can I expect? I am so over this. I just want my life back! I just turned 53 & have a 3 yr old grandson that I can't pick up & hold & it breaks my heart!
Thanks for any advice you can give me.
