2.5 weeks after L5/S1 discectomy surgery

Hello everyone,
This is my first post to this forum. I felt I would reach out to others as the emotional impact of having back problems and feeling alone with everything can sometimes feel overwhelming.
After a hideous year where surgery was the only option I had an L5/S1 discectomy on 20th Aug so 3 weeks on wed. So far I am finding recovery a very up and down process. I am not limping anymore and my sciatica is coming and going which I know is normal after this surgery but my lower back is really painful to move especially in bed and rolling over is really painful but it seems to have got worse and it feels really restricted how much movement the lower back can have in this position. Is this all part of recovery? I don't want to be freaking out for no reason. Maybe I'm not lying or sleeping in best position to help?
If there is anyone out there with some advice that would be most helpful.
Many thanks
