My symptomatic lumbar spinal stenosis & an unstable spondylolisthesis at the L4-L5 level has me deciding for surgery. The 2 qualified Dr. have suggested 2 approaches. Both recommend a micro discectomy combined with interbody fusion with bilateral decompression for stenosis all at the L4-5 level. One surgeon specializes in XLIF for my condition. I was wondering has anyone had experience with XLIF?. Is in truly minimally invasive? What were your results? I am considering surgery in Oct. or Nov. of 2014.
