new member first post- having lumbar revision surgery ALIF/PLF

Hello, and thanks for a great forum.

I had lumbar surgery in Nov of 2012- L4-S1, decompression, allograft, screws and plates. Graft didn't take, (non-smoker, and no other risk factors or metabolic issues that would cause the graft to fail) so, the condition known as pseudarthosis- some are asymptomatic some are symptomatic- mine is definitelty the latter.

That was with an Orthopedic surgeon, the revision surgery is being done by a neurosurgeon, who does a lot of these type surgeries. It will be ALIF day one (interbody cages- at l4-L5 and L5-S1) and day two, open posterior -remove instrumentation, put new in, and BMP- maybe other decompression and more?

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has had this type of revision surgery,or will be having it soon. Mine is scheduled in a couple of months.
