Increased pain after helping dog into the car

I have hit the four month mark on my ACDF surgery on C6. My arm pain has finally begun to leave me and most days are becoming better, though I still take hydrocodone. I had moderate central stenosis on my spinal cord, so my hips and legs still bother me some, but that, too, is getting better every month or so. I was a moron and helped lift my pup (60lbs) into the car. I did not totally lift him, but used my arms to force him back into the car after he thought he would also attend a garage sale with me! I am flared up today. I HOPE I did not do any damage, but just flared the nerves in my arms again since they have been pinched for a year and a half---slowly recovering. Would a person know if they broke the nuts, bolts, screws, and fusion?!! I feel like Frankenstein!

Also, once in a rare while, I will bend my neck forward while upright, and turn my head and sort of hear something weird in my neck, like two blocks moving. It is really gross. But it is pretty rare. It's only a certain spot that does it and I cannot even find the spot when I want. I also have some little pops like before surgery---hopefully tendons, muscles, etc. in my 55 year old neck! Normal to have a little noise?

  • I was cleared to use Ibuprofen after three months. Should I or should I not? Does it still risk the fusion?

No member is qualified to advise you on whether or not to use Ibuprofen, any responses will only be based on members opinions and not medical advice.
