21 y/o male
So injured my back, my first diagnosis was a lumbar strain. They did an x-ray and found nothing, so they put me back in regular duty a few weeks ago. I was performing my job and felt the pain on my lower back and my legs so i went to the clinic that day. Doc put me in modified duty with restriction for about 10 days, and I just recently did the MRI, they did "order" the MRI. Now i had a lot of freetime to do some research, and I compared my spine to other normal spines, and MINE did NOT look normal. It looks like im in the first stage of DDD where the disk is about to bulge. I think my doc is the working comp doctor, and when i visited him today, he said "your spine looks normal, and you were born with some abnormalities that causes the disc to be flattened". I immediately pulled the EDIT flag. I told him i wasnt born with such defects or abnormalities. The doc did not even look at the pictures but instead read what the MRI diagnosis stated. I told him that i disagree with his decision that im now in maximum medical improvement. I told him i wont even come close to performing normally. And he said "pain is different for everyone, im just following the guidelines and if you can't perform your job, then you need to start looking for another." My doctor visits only last about 3-5 min.
EDIT I don't to have to keep going back to the clinic and complain about my lower back and the heaviness on my legs. Should I go see another doctor for a second opinion? I have the disc that has my MRI images.
